 Terry Alve
iCare Resources promotes the ministry of Terry Alve and Associates.
Terry has worked as an ordained parish minister since 1980. He has offered a ministry of spiritual companionship since 2000. He previously trained as a ministry supporter (supervisor), while Vicar of the large Tawa-Linden Anglican Parish. He holds a letter of authority from the Anglican Bishop of Wellington as an officiating minister. Terry completed a Bachelor of Divinity from the Melbourne College of Divinity (1980) while studying full time at the Bible College of NZ and St John's Theological College. He completed the Spiritual Directors' Formation Programme with Spiritual Growth Ministries in 2002. In addition to maintaining a spiritual companioning and ministry support practice, he leads retreats, organises and participates in leading Weeks of Guided Prayer and regularly offers Sunday service ministry in various Wellington churches. He is a member of the Association of Spiritual Directors (ANZ). Terry is an orthodox Christian with a high commitment to the Biblical values of love, forgiveness, integrity, justice, care of creation and inclusiveness. His approach to God is within the emerging New Zealand contemplative spirituality movement that encourages openness to all people regardless of creed, gender, age, or other orientation; and to the land where we live. He believes that we are all children made in the image of God. Terry works collaboratively with several trained spiritual companions (directors) and with his wife Margaret who is a qualified counsellor with membership of the NZ Christian Counsellors' Association. |
